Copy of Children's Support Worker - Complex Care
Support children with complex emotional and behavioural needs in a safe, nurturing home. You’ll work as part of a trained team helping young people feel secure, supported and able to thrive.

Homes for Support is recruiting Complex Care Residential Childcare Support Workers for a new Complex Care service in Crewe. Our homes support children with complex needs, including Deprivation of Liberty (DoLs) arrangements, in highly structured, therapeutic environments.
The service is pending the Ofsted registration process. If successful, you can start immediately and will be placed into our established homes to complete induction, shadowing, and training before the Complex Care home opens.
What the Work Is Really Like
This role may involve:
Supporting children who may display high-risk or unpredictable behaviour
Remaining calm and professional during periods of emotional escalation
Providing consistent 1:1 or close-support care where required
Using de-escalation, regulation, and relational approaches
Maintaining safety for children, yourself, and colleagues
Working closely with managers and external professionals
You will never be expected to manage situations alone - teamwork and leadership support are central to how we operate.
Who This Role Is For
You should apply if you:
Have the right to work in the UK
Can commute to Crewe and hold a full clean driving licence hold
Have experience in residential childcare, secure care, mental health, or similar high-intensity environments
Are confident working with complex behaviour and emotional distress
Can follow clear structures, boundaries, and care plans
Are emotionally resilient and reflective in your practice
Want to develop specialist skills in complex and therapeutic care
Preferrably hold a Health and Social Care, Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare or equivalent
This role is not suitable for applicants without relevant care experience.
Training & Onboarding
We invest heavily in preparation and support. You will receive:
A full induction in established Homes for Support services
Shadowing with experienced staff and managers
Training in safeguarding, behaviour support, and therapeutic approaches
Ongoing supervision and reflective practice
Pay, Hours & Benefits
£32,833.50 per year including sleep-ins
2 on, 4 off rota (average 10 shifts per month)
14 days annual leave, increasing to 19 days with service
